Publication Day for Nothing Proved!

I am thrilled to announce the first book in my Regina Trilogy, Nothing Proved, is out today, and available through all the usual suspects (sorry, I do love puns) – Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple, Google, and your local independent bookstore (even a couple of libraries already!). It had to be today – the anniversary not only of the execution of Anne Boleyn but also the freeing of Elizabeth from the Tower after Wyatt’s Rebellion. My Elizabeth had to be released on the day Elizabeth was released.

Early editorial reviews have been amazing. A sample:

“A compelling period piece which brings to life the early days of one of history’s greatest monarchs” – Kirkus Reviews

“Watching her grow from a vulnerable girl into the sharp, politically savvy woman who would eventually rule England is both gripping and fascinating” – Readers Favorite

“Thinking this has been done before? If so, I don’t blame you; Gloriana has inspired novelists for ages, but the comparisons end there. Wertman’s subtly nuanced portrait of Anne’s daughter is unlike any I’ve read before.” – Historical Fiction Reader

“Wertman’s prose is sharp and deliberate, capturing the unease of a girl who must measure every word, every glance, knowing one misstep could cost her life.” – Historical Novel Society

“Her trilogy about the the Seymour family is terrific – this is even better.” – Steve Donoghue, Open Letters Review

“Nothing Proved might be my favorite historical fiction novel of 2025” – History With Ally

I hope you love it. Please let me know – with a review where you bought it and, if you’re still glowing, on Goodreads. (You don’t have to get philosophical, a single word will do – or even just a star rating. It really does make a difference.)
